I mean, just look at the Brotherhood in F2. Sure, there were a few interface upgrades in F2, and a whole lot more content, but Fallout 1 was a more intense, smooth, and better fleshed-out ride, IMO. I'm not saying Fallout 2 is bad, but I prefer the first one as I find it to be a more balanced experience. Whereas the second game has lots of good stuff, but at times the various locations seem a bit hacked together and shoehorned into the game. Everything tends to fit together better in the first game. Sure it is shorter, but all the areas in Fallout are better fleshed out than in the second (except the cathedral which is a little off). The goals are similar, but the pacing isn't as good in the second one from my POV. As my bait guy ducks to the side the guys on the roof all open up on this thing and just riddle it with holes. All my guys are set to burst fire as soon as they spot an enemy. My guy runs like a bat out of hell for the door and into the street. The Deathclaw sees my guy and chases him. I setup my whole crew on the roof of the building on the opposite side of the street from the Deathclaw building. This was somewhat early when I had limited firepower and I'd already seen how tough these things were. There is a smaller Deathclaw hanging out in a town that you have to take out. There was this great moment that really made the game for me. I had a great time with my initial Tactics run through. Tactics was anything you wanted it at and had *great* FSAA.

Wasn't Tactics only bumped up to 800圆00, anyway? Not much of an improvement, although I imagine anything much higher would result in finding small items nigh-impossible.
